Commuters Might See Site visitors Woes as Hearth Causes Closure of Dan Ryan, Stevenson Ramp – NBC Chicago

Hundreds of commuters who use a ramp connecting two main Chicago expressways might run into visitors issues the following few days, or presumably weeks.

In accordance with the Illinois Division of Transportation, the ramp in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood that connects the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstate 90/94) to the outbound Stevenson Expressway (Interstate 55) closed Thursday as a consequence of a trash fireplace Wednesday that triggered “important harm” to the ramp’s metal beams.

Whereas IDOT says it’s inspecting the bridge harm and evaluating what repairs have to be completed, the company stated that extreme warping of the metal may result in a long-term closure.

And whereas a detour is in place, IDOT says, motorists should exit I-55 (inbound), exit to Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and reenter I-55 outbound.

This story will probably be up to date as extra data turns into obtainable.
